AURUM MINING PLC ("the Company")

HOLDING IN COMPANY

The Company has today received notification, dated 28 February 2007, that as at
that date Altima Central Asia Master Fund ("ACAMF"), a controlled undertaking of
Altima Central Asia Fund Limited and domiciled in the Cayman Islands, acquired
5,140,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Shares") representing
approximately 12.11% of the Company's shares in issue at that time. The
registered holder of these Shares is DB Prime Brokerage.

ACAMF is advised by Altima International Limited and sub-advised by Altima
Partners LLP, a UK partnership authorised and regulated by the FSA, each of whom
consequently is an "indirect holder" of the above Shares by virtue of DTR 5.2.1.
